Arizona’s chances would receive a significant boost if they were to secure an upset win over Oregon in the Wildcats Bowl.

Wildcats Bowl Odds: Upset Win Over Oregon Would Bolster Arizona's Chances
Fact Checked by Young Ruth

In just five weeks of play in Tucson, the Arizona Wildcats have already surpassed their win totals from the past two seasons, making for an exciting start to the 2022 college football season.

The Wildcats, boasting a 3-2 record, decisively defeated Colorado 43-20, positioning themselves as strong contenders to reach a bowl game for the first time in half a decade.

In order to qualify for a bowl game, the Wildcats need to win against a top 25 team in the AP rankings within the next five weeks with the help of Arizona sports betting.

The Wildcats will start off the gauntlet at 6 p.m. on Saturday when they welcome No. 12 Oregon to Arizona Stadium. This will be the first time the two teams have met at Arizona Stadium since the Wildcats’ upset victory of 44-15 over the Ducks in 2018.

Coach Jedd Fisch will have the opportunity to earn his first significant upset victory in Saturday’s game, which will be broadcast on the Pac-12 Network. This comes after a 1-11 record in his first season as head coach.

Arizona has a track record of pulling off upsets against ranked Ducks teams at home, with notable victories in 2018, 2013 (42-16), and 2007 (34-24).

Yengols.com analyzed the Pac-12’s 2022 bowl game schedule to determine where the Wildcats could potentially end up in December if they finish with a record of 3-4 or better in their remaining games.

To assess the chances of Fisch’s squad making it to a bowl game in 2022, we examined Arizona sports betting app lines from Caesars Sportsbook Arizona, ESPN’s Football Power Index, and the Wildcats’ track record against each opponent dating back to 2012.

The Pac-12 teams have the opportunity to participate in a variety of bowl games, including the prestigious Rose Bowl and the LA Bowl, with at least six options available for placement.

This is our forecast for where the Wildcats will be headed once bowl season rolls around.

Another season without a bowl game appears inevitable for Tucson.

Given their strong performances this season, the Wildcats would achieve a miraculous feat if they were able to maintain a 5-5 record after facing off against the Ducks, Huskies, Trojans, Utes, and Bruins in their upcoming games.

The games against Oregon and USC, who have struggled in Tucson in the past, are the most probable to be victorious.

Arizona has had difficulty playing at Husky Stadium in Seattle, Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City, and the Rose Bowl in Los Angeles over the last ten years. They have a 0-3 record in Seattle, a 2-2 record in Salt Lake City, and a 0-5 record in Los Angeles since 2012.

Arizona has a chance to qualify for the LA Bowl if they can win enough games to finish with a record of 6-6 or 7-5. The Pac-12 also has the chance to send a team to the Armed Forces, First Responder, or Gasparilla bowls.

If the Wildcats can duplicate their stellar offensive showing from Saturday’s game against the Buffaloes, in which quarterback Jayden de Laura threw six touchdown passes and receiver Jacob Cowing recorded 12 catches for 180 yards and a touchdown, then Arizona could be a formidable opponent for any team they face.
