SuperBook is poised to become the 12th licensed operator in Arizona to launch sports betting services.

SuperBook Set to Become 12th Licensed Arizona Sports Betting Operator to Launch

The twelfth operator to receive a sports betting license from the Arizona Department of Gaming is set to launch their operations in the coming weeks, joining seventeen other approved operators.

SuperBook Sports teased its imminent launch with a tweet posted from the company’s official account on Wednesday.

SuperBook Sports will be hosting a grand opening event in Arizona from December 27 to January 3, as confirmed by a company representative speaking to yengols.com.

According to yengols.com, SuperBook Sports Executive Director John Murray expressed enthusiasm about entering the Arizona market and bringing the well-known SuperBook brand to a new audience. With a successful history in Las Vegas, they are confident that Arizona sports bettors will enjoy the same top-notch product.

The operator, working in collaboration with the Fort Mohave Indian Tribe, is one of four out of the 10 licensed groups associated with the tribe that have not yet opened.

Additional entities involved are the Navajo Nation, who has not yet disclosed a partner, the Hualapai Tribe in partnership with Golden Nugget, and the Ak-Chin Indian Community collaborating with Fubo Gaming.

Can you tell me more about SuperBook Sports?

SuperBook Sports was established in Las Vegas in 1993 and has since grown to include markets in Colorado and New Jersey.

The company is most famous for its Westgate facility in Las Vegas, which is recognized as the largest sportsbook facility globally.

SuperBook Sports has a retail store located in Black Hawk, Colorado, with a 7,000-square-foot operation nestled in the picturesque Rocky Mountains.

Kristin Mackey, the marketing chief at SuperBook Sports, enthusiastically discussed the company’s upcoming launch in Arizona. She emphasized the state’s robust sports scene, which includes premier professional and college teams, as well as popular spring training and golf events. Mackey confidently declared that SuperBook Sports boasts a top-tier app and is optimistic about their prospects for success in Arizona.

Launch deadline in Arizona

Arizona sports betting apps that have been awarded licenses under the 2021 gaming compact are required to commence operations within 180 days.

The compact specifies that the party responsible for conducting event wagering in the State must do so within 180 days of receiving licensure approval, or else the license will be forfeited back to the Department.

This indicates that the three tribes previously mentioned, as well as the Arizona Coyotes and Phoenix Mercury (Bally’s Arizona), are the only licensed entities without operations in the state.

The Coyotes have not announced a sports betting partnership yet, but indications show that they are expecting to finalize a deal soon and will be ready to launch before the six-month deadline.

A Bally’s Arizona representative confirmed to yengols.com that the company remains committed to launching its Arizona product in early 2022.

Additionally, a spokesperson from Fubo Gaming disclosed to yengols.com that the company is working towards launching its Arizona product soon. However, there is uncertainty about whether they will be able to meet their target of releasing it before the end of the year. In other news, the Ak-Chin Indian Community, Fubo’s tribal partner in Arizona, has recently introduced a Caesars retail sportsbook at Harrah’s Casino in Maricopa.

Attempts to reach the Navajo Nation gaming commission and Golden Nugget were not successful.

Who is authorized to operate in Arizona?

In August, the ADG granted licenses to a total of 18 operators, with 10 being tribes and 8 being professional sports teams.

The tribes included in the 2021 compact have permission to run retail sportsbooks on their tribal lands. Both the Gila River Indian Community and Pascua Yaqui Tribe have recently started operating retail sportsbook services.
