Phoenix sports fans are some of the least likely to witness a postseason appearance.
The Arizona Cardinals’ fans have had a challenging beginning to the season, with losses in three of their first four games.
With the Cardinals having Super Bowl odds of +75000 and the Arizona Coyotes having the fifth-longest odds for a Stanley Cup title, it raises the question of whether Phoenix sports fans are cursed.
On October 5th, yengols.com computed the playoff chances for every NFL, NBA, and NHL team. By combining the probabilities for each team within a city, we identified which fanbases have the lowest chances of seeing their teams in the postseason this year. Our study specifically looked at cities with teams in all three leagues.

Phoenix’s professional teams find their saving grace in the Suns.
Because the Cardinals and Coyotes have been struggling, Phoenix has the fourth-lowest combined odds of all NFL, NBA, and NHL teams to make the postseason at 119.8%. The Suns’ high odds of -3000 (96.8%) played a significant role in this calculation.
Despite the promising future of the Suns, Phoenix did not have the lowest postseason chances among cities. Chicago (54.9%), Washington D.C. (62.9%), and New York (101.3%) all had higher rankings than Phoenix.
At this moment, Arizona sports fans can feel thankful that the Suns have made a strong comeback on the court, currently holding the fourth-best NBA title odds for sports betting in the state.
