Adding flair to the Arizona sports betting experience, Caesars Sportsbook is now available at Chase Field.
On a sweltering Monday evening in downtown Phoenix, a sports bar adorned in forest green and gold beckoned in pedestrians with the allure of betting and ice-cold beer.
Before Monday’s game between the Diamondbacks and Philadelphia Phillies, I found my way to Caesars Sportsbook Arizona at Chase Field.
The two-story sportsbook, bar, and restaurant at the Emperor has quickly become a favorite pregame destination for patrons heading to Chase Field since opening its doors two months ago.
In the evening, I noticed dozens of people at all levels of the venue, mostly sitting on barstools and wearing either the home team’s turquoise and purple or the opposing team’s red, white, and blue attire.
A Center for the Community
On Monday night, when I visited, there was minimal Arizona sports betting activity. The only individuals I observed using one of the six betting kiosks on the sportsbook’s second floor were three Phillies fans.
The Caesars Sportsbook at Chase Field seems to have more of a mix between a bar and restaurant vibe, rather than a typical sportsbook, which is different from the FanDuel Sportsbook Arizona at Footprint Center located just a short distance away on Jefferson Street.
The availability of Arizona betting apps can be credited to the lack of in-person betting opportunities.
David Grolman, Senior Vice President of Retail Operations at Caesars, shared his enthusiasm for the expected surge of visitors at the Chase Field sportsbook during autumn weekends in a statement to yengols.com.
Grolman enthusiastically shared his excitement about the enthusiastic reception since the grand opening in June, emphasizing that game days truly bring the space to life. With this positive trend, Caesars Sportsbook at Chase Field is poised to become the top destination in downtown Phoenix for watching college and NFL football this upcoming fall.
With the NFL and college football seasons ready to begin, yengols.com is the premier spot for Arizona sportsbook deals.
An Arizona Sportsbook Experience Unlike Any Other
My trip to Caesars’ first retail stadium sportsbook in Arizona confirmed Grolman’s statement, as the crowd on Monday was notably diverse compared to my visits to other stadium sportsbooks in the region.
I noticed several tables of women having a good time together, and groups of young men pausing for a break on their way to the ballpark. They were all seated at various tables and barstools around me.
I sat at a corner table with my $9.77 draft of Peroni, taking in the diverse crowd of people from various ages and backgrounds around me. It was a nice change from the usual male-dominated spaces I had experienced at other retail establishments in the Valley.
I watched a range of sports on over 20 screens in the second-floor lounge, while the first floor is only for reservations, except for the two bars. The sports on display included Serena Williams’ U.S. Open match, several MLB games, and even an ultimate frisbee competition on one screen.
Most screens switched to Bally Sports Arizona right after the 6:40 p.m. start of Monday’s game between the D’backs and Phillies. Surprisingly, the crowd seemed to pay little attention to the screens.
This was a stark contrast to the atmosphere I had just witnessed down the street at the Suns and Mercury’s home, where the attention was fixed on the large wall of screens and customers were completely engrossed in the content being shown.
The nearby sportsbooks cater to distinct customer demographics, with the Footprint Center targeting avid sports fans and bettors, and the Caesars Sportsbook appealing to a broader audience.
I was thoroughly impressed by the outstanding service at the casino during my Monday night visit. Throughout the night, multiple servers made sure my beer was always refilled and the mouthwatering food options that passed by were incredibly tempting.
The Caesars Sportsbook at Chase Field seems to have fully embraced its role as a restaurant/bar rather than a traditional retail sportsbook.
Regardless, the downtown Phoenix venue provides a wide range of entertainment options to keep visitors engaged for an evening in the city center, establishing it as a valuable nightlife destination in the Valley.
