The partnership between Bally’s and Mercury expands the roster of betting partners in Arizona.

Bally’s/Mercury Deal Grows List of Arizona Betting Partners

A new partnership between two entities was announced on Wednesday while we await further guidance from the state’s Department of Gaming on the operation of sports betting in Arizona.

On Wednesday, Bally’s and the Phoenix Mercury of the WNBA officially signed a 15-year agreement, marking the first gaming access deal between Bally’s and a professional women’s sports team. This agreement allows Bally’s access to its 15th state.

Once the Arizona Department of Gaming grants a mobile sports betting license to the Mercury, Bally’s will take charge of running an online platform in the state. Additionally, they will oversee a retail sportsbook located near the Phoenix Suns Arena, where the Mercury hold their games, and promote their services during Mercury events.

The Bally’s and Mercury partnership is among several collaborations in the state taking advantage of legalized sports betting, set to be fully operational by the start of the AZ NFL betting season on Sept. 9.

DraftKings/PGA Tour

The PGA Tour and DraftKings announced on April 14 their partnership to open a luxury sportsbook at TPC Scottsdale, home of the Waste Management Phoenix Open, which was won by Brooks Koepka in February.

The 2022 edition has been planned for February 10-13.

DraftKings and the PGA Tour are broadening their existing commercial collaboration to introduce DraftKings Sportsbook retail and mobile sports betting services in Arizona.

DraftKings will exclusively partner with the Waste Management Phoenix Open at TPC Scottsdale each year as the official sports betting provider.

Both parties are in the process of creating a “19th hole” experience at TPC Scottsdale, where fans can gather year-round to enjoy betting, watch sports, and indulge in a variety of delicious food and drink options.

Both organizations have confirmed that they are working together with the City of Scottsdale and the Thunderbirds, who organize the Waste Management Phoenix Open, to develop and improve the project with the aim of maximizing economic, tourism, and charitable advantages for the local community.

Specifics regarding the retail sportsbook location at TPC Scottsdale will be revealed at a later time, as various potential locations are currently being evaluated.

FanDuel/Phoenix Suns

Governor Doug Ducey signed a bill on April 15, legalizing sports betting in Arizona. As a result, the Phoenix Suns and FanDuel Sportsbook announced a multiyear partnership, with FanDuel becoming the official sportsbook and Daily Fantasy Sports partner of the Suns.

According to the agreement, FanDuel will be opening a retail sportsbook at the Phoenix Suns Arena, aiming to have it operational before the start of the 2021-22 NBA season.

Caesars/Arizona Diamondbacks

On May 6, Caesars Entertainment and the Arizona Diamondbacks announced their partnership to build a new sportsbook and bar on the plaza near Chase Field in downtown Phoenix. The space, formerly home to Game 7 Grill on the Plaza, will also feature a broadcast studio.

This agreement grants Caesars access to the mobile sports betting market and sponsorship opportunities in both sports betting and daily fantasy sports with the Diamondbacks.
