Arizona Wildcats vs. Oregon Betting Preview & Promo Codes

Less than a week has passed since the Arizona Wildcats experienced their first defeat to a Football Championship Subdivision team in program history.

In a surprising turn of events, Northern Arizona University, a local rival, staged a come-from-behind victory to defeat the Wildcats in college football, with a final score of 21-19. This win was the program’s first triumph over Arizona since 1932.

The program’s record-breaking losing streak reached 15 games after the latest loss, marking the second Wildcats game since the launch of new Arizona sports betting apps on September 9.

The Arizona and Oregon teams are set to go head-to-head in Eugene at 7:30 p.m. local time. Fans across the country can tune in to watch the game live on ESPN.

On the way to the Willamette Valley

One week later, Coach Jedd Fisch and his team are gearing up for another difficult matchup as they journey 1,000 miles to Eugene to face off against the No. 3 Oregon team at Autzen Stadium.

Only a fortnight ago, the Ducks surprised everyone by beating Ohio State in Columbus. Their offense is versatile, with an average of over 200 yards both passing and rushing in all three games this season.

Operators in Arizona are understandably lacking confidence in the Wildcats’ chances, given that DraftKings Arizona, BetMGM Arizona, and FanDuel Arizona all have them listed as a 28.5-point underdog in Saturday night’s game.

Eugene has a checkered history with Arizona.

Arizona is set to make their first trip to Eugene since 2019, when the Ducks secured a 34-6 victory over the Wildcats.

The Wildcats last won at Autzen Stadium in 2014, beating the then-No. 3 ranked Ducks with a score of 31-24.

The Wildcats defeated the Ducks in a 44-15 victory in Tucson on October 27, 2018, marking Arizona’s most recent win in the series.

Since 1937, Arizona has a historical record of 17 wins and 27 losses against Oregon. The Ducks have won three of the last four matchups between the two teams.

High-Flying Ducks

Oregon has had a strong season thus far, securing wins against Fresno State (31-24 in Eugene) and Ohio State (35-28 in Columbus), in addition to a commanding 48-7 victory over Stony Brook last Saturday.

Senior quarterback Anthony Brown has been a crucial factor in Oregon’s offensive success this season, throwing for 567 yards and four touchdowns without any interceptions.

Brown has performed exceptionally well in executing head coach Mario Cristobal’s fast-paced spread option offense, accumulating 123 yards on 20 carries and scoring two rushing touchdowns in the current season.

Junior running backs CJ Verdell and Travis Dye have joined forces with Brown in the Ducks’ backfield, combining for 483 rushing yards and six touchdowns.

Johnny Johnson III, a Chandler native, leads the Ducks in receiving yards this season with 117. He is a wide receiver for the team.

The senior player will have plenty of chances to shine in the early quarters of Saturday’s game as the Ducks look to establish an early lead against the Wildcats. This will provide younger players with an opportunity to display their talents before the team heads to Palo Alto to face the Stanford Cardinal.

Who is the quarterback for Arizona?

A key question surrounding Fisch’s offense is who will be getting the first-team quarterback reps for the Wildcats on Saturday night.

This is due to the fact that the three quarterbacks who have taken the field for Arizona this season have combined for 781 yards and five touchdowns in three games, with none of them standing out significantly at this point.

The quarterbacks of Arizona have been given the lowest grade in the Pac-12 this season, scoring a combined 50.5 from Pro Football Focus.

In his recent statements to the press, Fisch outlined the current quarterback dilemma.

Fisch pointed out that there is a clear need for better quarterback performance.

The Wildcats’ success is still up in the air, but we should have a better idea after Saturday night’s game at Autzen.
