Arizona’s sports betting industry is expanding with the opening of Tucson’s first retail sportsbook at Casino del Sol.
The inaugural retail sportsbook in Tucson officially opened on Thursday, located on the south side of the city in conjunction with the recent debut of Arizona sports betting apps.
SolSports, the sportsbook at Casino Del Sol, features a spacious 4,000 square feet area with over 60 televisions. It also offers six ticket counters and eight self-service betting kiosks for guests to use.
The Pascua Yaqui Tribe partnered with Scientific Gaming in late August to launch SolSports sportsbook, becoming one of only 10 tribes in Arizona to receive a license from the Arizona Department of Gaming.
SolSports: Revolutionizing Sports for the Pascua Yaqui Tribe
Tribal Chairman Peter Yucupicio stated that the launch of the tribe’s first retail sportsbook is a major milestone for the Pascua Yaqui community, offering Tucson residents a convenient spot for Arizona sports betting.
Yucupicio enthusiastically announced in a press release the highly anticipated launch of SolSports, a casino sports betting feature for guests. He is confident that this new gaming offering will have positive economic impacts on both the tribe and the state of Arizona.
The Tucson sportsbook will be using Scientific Gaming’s OpenSport sports betting technology.
Kimberly Van Amburg, CEO of Casino Del Sol, is thrilled to invite Tucson residents to enjoy the exciting in-person sports betting atmosphere created by the SolSports team.
The current state of Arizona’s sportsbook market
So far, tribal sportsbooks have been set up on Gila River Indian Community and Tonto Apache land, with the Pascua Yaqui tribe becoming the third tribe in the state to open a similar facility.
Gila River, BetMGM Arizona, and the Arizona Cardinals have joined forces to introduce four retail sportsbooks at the Tribe’s casino locations in the Phoenix area.
Gila River Hotels & Casinos has just launched BetMGM Arizona sportsbooks at Vee Quiva, Wild Horse Pass, and Lone Butte locations, and is set to open a new sportsbook at the Santan Mountain venue in south Chandler.
The Tonto Apache tribe has just opened a TwinSpires Sportsbook Arizona location at their Mazatzal Hotel & Casino in Payson.
You can visit a retail FanDuel Sportsbook at the Footprint Center in downtown Phoenix, as well as Caesars Sportsbook betting windows at Chase Field. There are also plans in the works to open a BetMGM facility at State Farm Stadium in 2022.
The Casino Del Sol facility on the southside of Tucson provides seating for a minimum of 100 patrons, a complete bar, and food service choices, making it an ideal spot for in-person sports betting in Southern Arizona.
