Arizona Downs will be opening a retail Caesars Sportsbook later this month.
Towards the end of this month, a Caesars Sportsbook retail outlet is set to open at the Arizona Downs racetrack in Prescott Valley.
Tom Auther, the owner and partner of the track, told yengols.com that the facility, one of just two in the state to receive a limited sports betting license from the Arizona Department of Gaming in April, will start providing retail betting on the opening day of horse racing on June 25th.
Auther stated that Arizona Downs has partnered with a reputable Las Vegas company to introduce two sports betting kiosks and enhanced betting options to the racetrack’s simulcast room.
The announcement from the track came just over a month after Turf Paradise introduced its Unibet-branded retail sportsbook, and a year after both racetracks were denied a mobile sports betting license by the ADG.
David Snock, Vice President of Western Operations for Caesars Sportsbook, shared his excitement about expanding into the Prescott Valley market and bringing their high-quality sports betting product to the local community. He told yengols.com that a new Caesars Sports betting lounge will open at Arizona Downs on Saturday, June 25, strengthening their position in Arizona and their important partnerships. The new retail location will offer various self-service kiosks and ticket redemption options, enhancing the overall experience for customers and marking a significant and thrilling development for Caesars Sportsbook.

Simplifying Betting for Yavapai County Residents
In January, Arizona announced that there would be 10 limited licenses available for sports betting.
The author observed that the track will soon offer on-site casino retail sports betting during its horse races this summer, providing customers with a variety of activities to enjoy at the facility. Although patrons with limited licenses will be able to participate in casino retail sports betting, Arizona sports betting apps will not be accessible.
Auther clarified to yengols.com that they are the only ones offering sports betting in Yavapai County, making them the top choice for in-person betting. However, the exclusivity may have limited impact as customers are expected to opt for online betting accounts.
This is a spontaneous event where spectators come to enjoy the races and may spontaneously choose to place a bet, rather than intentionally visiting the track for sports betting. Despite this, we have a strong partnership with the Caesars team and feel it is important to provide a range of betting opportunities, leading us to introduce a sportsbook.
Information to be aware of regarding the Arizona Downs’ facility
According to Auther, the majority of the current simulcast room will be transformed into the Caesars Sportsbook facility, with the possibility of expanding into the track’s clubhouse on the third floor.
Auther stated that the existing space already has multiple televisions and seating, so minimal adjustments will be required for the operator to prepare it for opening this summer.
The author praised the Arizona sportsbooks market for providing a comfortable betting experience with the presence of TVs and knowledgeable personnel on site for horse betting. He believed that this setup was superior to placing sports betting in a bar with only a few TVs.
