On April 13, Turf Paradise Racing will become part of the Arizona sports betting scene.
Turf Paradise Racing in Phoenix will officially join the Arizona sports betting market next week.
On Wednesday, Turf Paradise, a well-known horse racing venue, announced plans to launch a temporary sports betting section in partnership with Unibet Arizona on April 13th. Situated at 19th Avenue and Bell Road in the North Valley, Turf Paradise is constantly evolving and enhancing its amenities for guests.
At Turf Paradise, customers can conveniently place bets on live and off-track horse racing, as well as sporting events, all in one place. In March, Turf Paradise announced its partnership with Unibet, which also has a mobile license in the state through its collaboration with the Fort Yuma-Quechan Tribe.
Vincent Francia, the general manager of Turf Paradise, shared his enthusiasm for the upcoming expansion of betting options at the track. Alongside traditional horse racing wagers, Turf Paradise will soon offer /go-bet/ betting on various sports in collaboration with Unibet.
What the Turf Paradise Sportsbook Will Appear As
Initially, the Unibet facility at Turf Paradise will be located on the first floor of the grandstand in the Paddock Room as a temporary setup. It will later transition to a permanent location in the banquet room on the third floor of the track.
The sports betting facility is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends. Hours may change during the fall to accommodate college and NFL football schedules.
The retail sportsbook will feature six sports betting kiosks, a customer assistance teller for cashing out, and more than 20 televisions, as stated in the release.
The journey of Turf Paradise leading up to next week’s opening.
Turf Paradise sought an Arizona betting apps license from the Department of Gaming, but their application was rejected. Subsequently, they filed a complaint in Maricopa County Superior Court in August, but it was ultimately dismissed.
At the end of January, the track received approval for a limited event wagering license. This license allows racetracks or off-track betting locations with Arizona Department of Racing permits to provide in-person sports betting, as long as they are located at least five miles away from tribal gaming establishments, event wagering facilities, or other limited event wagering operators.
Limited licenses were granted to ten facilities, including two of the state’s three horse racing tracks: Arizona Downs Racetrack in Prescott Valley and Turf Paradise.
Two of the remaining eight licensees are off-track betting venues located within Phoenix city limits. Rillito Downs in Tucson, the only racetrack facility without a license, stated they submitted an application to the ADG on yengols.com.
As part of the $10,000 initial license fee, applicants were required to pay a $1,000 application fee. Additionally, there is a $5,000 annual renewal fee.
