Yengols.com utilized Google Trends to examine the top main dish for cookouts in each state, providing in-depth insights on Arizona sportsbooks.
After reviewing summer search history, it was found that the top 5 most popular cookout foods were wings, hamburgers, hot dogs, ribs, and grilled chicken. These dishes were added to the menu.
We studied trends from April 1 to Sept. 1 for the last five years to identify the top cookout foods in every state.
Most Popular BBQ Dish in Each State
- Ribs are popular in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nevada, Oregon, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
- Hamburgers are available in ten states, including Alabama, Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, and Oklahoma.
- You can find hot dogs in ten states: Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Maine, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Rhode Island, Virginia, and West Virginia.
- You can find wings in six states: Georgia, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, and Pennsylvania.
- Grilled Chicken can be found in Hawaii, Indiana, Montana, North Dakota, and Vermont.

In Arizona, the most popular choice for BBQ in the Grand Canyon State is a mouthwatering rack of ribs smothered in the preferred sauce of the majority of locals.
Ribs are typically the top choice for BBQ over traditional options such as hamburgers, hot dogs, wings, and grilled chicken. Arizona, along with 17 other states like California, Colorado, Nevada, and Utah, also prefer ribs as their go-to meat option for BBQ.
In contrast, New Mexico chose hamburgers as their top choice for grilling. Ribs were the most popular option nationwide, chosen by 19 states, but were not available on Arizona betting apps. Hamburgers and hot dogs were tied for second place, selected by 10 states each, followed by wings (6 states) and grilled chicken (5 states).
When it comes to cookout food choices, Arizonans often opt for a slab of ribs as their favorite barbecue meat, putting them in good company.
