Arizona State basketball is up against tough Pac-12 title odds.

Arizona State Basketball Faces Long Pac-12 Title Odds

Arizona State is favored in early college basketball betting odds as the season begins this week.

According to various Arizona sports betting apps, the Sun Devils, led by head coach Bobby Hurley in his seventh year, are seen as unlikely to win the 2021-22 Pac-12 regular season championship.

ASU’s underwhelming performance in the 2020-21 season, starting with a high preseason ranking in the Associated Press poll and ending with an 11-14 record, ultimately led to their exclusion from the NCAA Tournament.

Hurley and his team will kick off the regular season against Portland State in Tempe at 5 p.m. Arizona time on Tuesday. The first televised game for the Sun Devils will be against California-Riverside on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Arizona time on the Pac-12 Network.

ASU has slim chances of winning the title in 2022.

Online sports betting in Arizona suggests that Hurley’s hopes of making a comeback to the Big Dance, which they haven’t done since 2019, will have to wait for at least another year.

The Sun Devils have the sixth-best odds to win the Pac-12 on both Caesars Sportsbook (+3500) and DraftKings Sportsbook Arizona, tying for seventh place with the same odds on both platforms.

ASU is ranked 10th in the odds to win the conference on FanDuel Sportsbook Arizona with a line of +6500, and also 10th overall on TwinSpires Sportsbook Arizona with odds of +4000 in other rankings.

BetMGM Arizona, DraftKings Sportsbook Arizona, and FanDuel Sportsbook Arizona are all offering odds of +15000 for the Sun Devils to win the national title.

TwinSpires Sportsbook Arizona and Caesars Sportsbook Arizona are both offering odds of +10000 for the Sun Devils to win the championship in the 2021-22 season.

Top ASU Games to Watch in the 2021-22 Season

Hurley has once more packed ASU’s non-conference schedule with high-profile games, including an away game against San Diego State on Nov. 18 and a home matchup against reigning national champion Baylor on Nov. 24, currently ranked eighth.

Following that, the Sun Devils will play against Washington State at home in their Pac-12 opener on Dec. 1, then head to Eugene to face Oregon just four days later.

ASU will play their inaugural home game against Grand Canyon University on December 9, then hit the road to face Creighton on December 14. The non-conference schedule will conclude with home matchups against San Francisco and Florida A&M on December 19 and 21.

The Sun Devils will start their second Pac-12 season with back-to-back away games against USC and the second-ranked UCLA, before returning home to take on in-state rival Arizona on January 8th.

The success of Hurley’s team in reaching the Big Dance in the upcoming year will be determined by their performance against UCLA, USC, Oregon, and Arizona in the early conference games.
