BetMGM in Arizona announces its plans to open a retail sportsbook at State Farm Stadium.
An NFL stadium in Arizona will debut the first retail sportsbook facility for sports betting just in time for the 2022 regular season.
BetMGM Arizona, in collaboration with the Arizona Cardinals, will unveil a new 17,000-square-foot sportsbook located on the northern side of The Great Lawn, next to State Farm Stadium in Glendale.
The cutting-edge facility features multiple levels and a contemporary design, providing a variety of dining and entertainment options for sports fans. Amenities include a sports bar and a spacious video wall for guests to enjoy watching games.
The BetMGM Arizona sportsbook will provide customers with convenient betting windows and kiosks positioned throughout the facility, making it easy for them to place in-person wagers.
According to a press release from BetMGM CEO Kelly Dahliablatt, the Arizona Cardinals and BetMGM are committed to enhancing the fan experience on game days through innovative approaches. The upcoming BetMGM Sportsbook at State Farm Stadium is poised to be a revolutionary and unique addition to the venue, setting a new standard in the sports and entertainment sector.
Similar sentiments were expressed by Cardinals owner Michael Bidwell regarding the partnership with BetMGM. He highlighted the operator’s recent expansion into Arizona as proof of the enhanced chances to engage with the team’s supporters.
Ever since we started partnering with BetMGM in August, we have received an incredibly positive response. The launch of the sportsbook next season presents a special chance to engage and entertain our fans in a way we have never done before.
The retail sportsbook market in Arizona is experiencing growth.
The BetMGM Arizona retail facility will be the third to be located at a professional sports venue in the state, after FanDuel Sportsbook Arizona at Footprint Center and Caesars Sportsbook Arizona at Chase Field.
Other teams that received Arizona betting apps licenses in August have yet to reveal any plans to launch brick-and-mortar stores, but this may change in the coming months.
DraftKings Sportsbook Arizona is said to be in the works of building a retail sportsbook at TPC Scottsdale, but details on the project have not been disclosed by the operator.
The Arizona Coyotes (in collaboration with SAHARA Las Vegas/Sierra Reno), Phoenix Mercury (partnered with Bally’s Arizona), and Arizona Rattlers (in conjunction with Rush Street Interactive/BetRivers) have secured mobile sports betting licenses. Nevertheless, none of them have revealed plans to open physical sportsbooks at their respective venues.
According to the Arizona Republic, the Coyotes are considering opening a retail store in the future, pending the success of their proposed arena project in Tempe.
At this time, there are no official plans for a physical sportsbook at Phoenix International Raceway. However, the venue has joined forces with Penn National Interactive/Barstool Sports for mobile sports betting.
