Arizona State basketball is up against tough Pac-12 title odds.

Arizona State is favored in early college basketball betting odds as the season begins this week.

According to various Arizona sports betting apps, the Sun Devils, led by head coach Bobby Hurley in his seventh year, are seen as unlikely to win the 2021-22 Pac-12 regular season championship.

ASU’s underwhelming performance in the 2020-21 season, starting with a high preseason ranking in the Associated Press poll and ending with an 11-14 record, ultimately led to their exclusion from the NCAA Tournament.

ASU has slim chances of winning the title in 2022.

Online sports betting in Arizona suggests that Hurley’s hopes of making a comeback to the Big Dance, which they haven’t done since 2019, will have to wait for at least another year.

Following that, the Sun Devils will play against Washington State at home in their Pac-12 opener on Dec. 1, then head to Eugene to face Oregon just four days later.

ASU will play their inaugural home game against Grand Canyon University on December 9, then hit the road to face Creighton on December 14. The non-conference schedule will conclude with home matchups against San Francisco and Florida A&M on December 19 and 21.

The Sun Devils will start their second Pac-12 season with back-to-back away games against USC and the second-ranked UCLA, before returning home to take on in-state rival Arizona on January 8th.

The success of Hurley’s team in reaching the Big Dance in the upcoming year will be determined by their performance against UCLA, USC, Oregon, and Arizona in the early conference games.
