Arizona Sports Betting Report: Taxes Down, FanDuel Tops in Handle During February
Fact Checked by Young Ruth

Arizona’s sports betting revenue in February saw a notable drop from the previous month, following a similar pattern seen in betting activities nationwide.

In February, the handle totaled $491.7 million, marking a 12.8% decrease from the previous record of $563.694 million in January. Revenue also saw a significant drop of over 60%, falling from $19.622 million in January to an undisclosed amount in February.

In September, Arizona collected just $31,393 in taxes, marking the second lowest monthly total since the start of betting. The state has collected a total of $670,685 in taxes overall.

According to Director Ted Vogt of the Arizona Department of Gaming, while February’s numbers were lower than January’s, they still show the market’s resilience.

“In Arizona, event wagering levels continue to be robust,” said Vogt in the press release. “Despite a slight dip in wagering activity, the state maintained a strong national presence during a traditionally quieter month for sports betting.”
