FanDuel is preparing for the launch of sports betting and daily fantasy sports in Arizona.
FanDuel Sportsbook will be introduced in Arizona at the same time as the launch of daily fantasy sports and sports betting.
Both DFS and sports betting have been given the green light for launch. DFS is set to debut on Aug. 28, while sports betting will follow on Sept. 9 in time for the start of Arizona NFL betting. The company plans for sportsbooks to begin pre-registration for residents on Aug. 28 ahead of the official launch.
FanDuel and the Phoenix Suns have teamed up to launch a 7,400-square-foot sportsbook at the Footprint Center in downtown Phoenix. This partnership makes the Suns one of the pioneering NBA teams to feature a sports betting venue within their arena.
As per a company representative interviewed by yengols.com, The Footprint Center’s sportsbook is scheduled to open to the public in early September, following the recent release of its details.
The news reported by Sports Handle on Monday is just the start of a wave of similar announcements that are anticipated in the coming days.
Arizona Sports Betting Applicants
The Arizona Department of Gaming plans to distribute 20 sports betting licenses, dividing them equally between tribes and their partners, as well as professional sports teams.
Currently, there have been no further licenses confirmed. The department will not reveal the permit recipients until all individuals have been notified, with an expected announcement before Friday.
So far, the Suns, Phoenix Mercury, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Arizona Cardinals have announced their applications for operator’s licenses with FanDuel, Bally’s, Caesars Sportsbook Arizona, and BetMGM Arizona/Gila River Community.
