Arizona has popular spots for ice cream.
Arizona is always among the top 10 hottest states in America, so it’s a good thing that National Ice Cream month falls in July. It’s the perfect time to indulge in a cool treat and beat the summer heat.
Which flavor is the favorite of most people in Arizona?
yengols.com shifted their focus from Arizona sports betting to analyzing the most searched ice cream flavors in each state using Google Trends. By utilizing YouGov’s data on the top 11 most popular ice cream flavors in 2018, they studied trends from July 6, 2022, to July 6, 2023, to identify the top five ice cream flavors in Arizona.
The Top Ice Cream Flavors in Arizona
Finding ice cream in Phoenix is a breeze.
The most searched flavor is vanilla, followed by chocolate in second place, cookies and cream in third place, and a tie for fourth between strawberry and mint chocolate chip. Other flavors included in the data are butter pecan, chocolate chip cookie dough, pistachio, rocky road, chocolate chip, and cake batter.
In a recent national poll by YouGov, vanilla and chocolate emerged as the top two favorite ice cream flavors, followed closely by strawberry, cookies and cream, and chocolate chip. Surprisingly, only 11% of respondents selected vanilla as their top choice, while 10% preferred chocolate.
Therefore, no one flavor stands out as the clear favorite.
Many lists feature the best ice cream parlors in Arizona where you can enjoy your favorite frozen dessert.
When in Scottsdale, be sure to visit Sweet Republic and Sugar Bowl, while Phoenix boasts Churn, Melt, and Mary Coyle Ol’ Fashion Ice Cream. Tucson is home to must-try spots like The Screamery and Hub Restaurant & Ice Creamery, and Gilbert offers delicious treats at Udder Delights.
Phoenix seems to have the most ice cream shops in the state, as several websites rank the top eight, 10, 15, and even 50 shops in the city. In 2022, the popular Baskin-Robbins chain stated they have 23 standalone stores in the Phoenix area.
You can easily find ice cream on your way to downtown to place bets at Caesars Sportsbook Arizona at Chase Field or FanDuel Sportsbook at the Footprint Center.
It’s likely that you’ll come across an ice cream shop nearby, but if not, the freezer aisle at the grocery store is a great spot to relax and choose your favorite flavors.
