What is the future of ASU Football in the first year of the Dillingham Era?

There is a new figure on the sidelines in Tempe, and he is vastly different from the previous one.

A 33-year-old coach who began coaching at Chaparral High School in Scottsdale is assuming the role of head coach at Arizona State, replacing the 69-year-old football veteran Herm Edwards.

Kenny Dillingham, a native of the Valley, takes over for Edwards after a disappointing 2022 season in which the Sun Devils finished with a 3-9 record. This marked their lowest win total since 1994 when they ended the season with a 3-8 record.

Fast forward 29 years from the low point in the ’90s, the ASU program is now seen as a major contender to win the Pac-12 in 2023 despite being considered one of the biggest underdogs in the past.

Odds for Arizona State’s regular season record

ASU expected to experience some growing pains
