Fact Checked by Young Ruth

Arizona is set to compete in their 28th Women’s College World Series this week, facing tough competition in the eight-team national championship tournament.

Even though they were the third seed in the Columbia regional, the Wildcats (38-20 overall, 8-16 Pac-12) defied expectations and secured a spot in Oklahoma City by defeating 15th-seeded Missouri. Arizona’s success continued as they went on to defeat Mississippi State in the Super Regional round over the weekend.

Arizona, under the guidance of first-year head coach Caitlin Lowe, secured crucial wins that propelled them to the WCWS. Their first round match against seventh-seeded Oklahoma State will kick off at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, airing live on ESPN.
