The Suns’ recent road trip hasn’t affected their championship prospects, with BetMGM Sportsbook Arizona placing them at +1600 to win the NBA title (ninth overall) and +750 to win the Western Conference (sixth out of 15 teams).

Dan Costello, the executive vice president and chief revenue officer of the Suns, believes that the Super Bowl road trip holds significant value in the grand scheme of things. With Arizona’s sports betting industry nearly 18 months old, the state has become the first Super Bowl host to offer legal wagering.

Costello informed yengols.com that their venue focuses mainly on basketball with the Suns and Mercury, but they also host many concerts and events. Their goal is to work together with the community to enhance economic development in the region.

There are 17 Arizona sports betting apps currently accepting wagers, presenting a lucrative economic opportunity.

Collaboration is the Key to Success in the Big Game

Costello conveyed the Suns organization’s excitement for hosting several events during Super Bowl LVII week, such as Monday’s Opening Night and the Super Bowl Music Fest happening from Thursday to Saturday. The lineup for the festival includes Paramore, Dave Matthews Band, and Imagine Dragons.

The experienced Suns front office member emphasized that the team is not worried about the balance of home and away games, as the NBA guarantees an equitable schedule for all franchises.

Furthermore, Costello is excited to see the spectacular main events of the Super Bowl at the recently renovated downtown arena, which received a $240 million upgrade last year. The arena now features the FanDuel Sportsbook Arizona retail location.

Costello stated that our players will be back on Friday and will have the chance to see some of the activities happening here.

A City Designed for Major Sporting Events

Costello believes that the Phoenix area is well-equipped to effectively host major events such as the Super Bowl.

He stressed that the Valley’s hosting of both Super Bowl LVII and the 2023 Waste Management Phoenix Open at the same time highlights the region’s commitment to sports and its extensive infrastructure capable of accommodating such large-scale events.

Costello believes that the numerous sports events in Phoenix highlight the city’s dedication to sports. With 13 Spring Training venues, all major sports leagues, NASCAR, and a major golf event taking place this weekend, Phoenix proves itself as a true sports town.

Costello sees the Suns as acting as ambassadors for visitors in the days leading up to the city’s fourth Super Bowl this week. The Footprint Center will provide the setting for a momentous occasion in Arizona’s history.

Costello thinks it would be beneficial for the Suns to temporarily relocate for 10 days during the Super Bowl in order to take advantage of the positive impact the event has on the region.

Costello emphasized that the Phoenix Suns’ role is to warmly welcome fans and that the festivities during Super Bowl week extend far beyond just the Sunday game. He eagerly discussed the prospect of featuring their venues with a series of concerts, describing it as a thrilling opportunity.
