Cowboys secure fifth Super Bowl victory in Super Bowl XXX

The Cowboys won their last championship of their successful era on January 28, 1996 at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe.

In Super Bowl XXX, Troy Aikman and his team quickly established a 10-point lead in the first quarter against AFC champion Pittsburgh, leading to a final score of 27-17 in their favor. New England looked unstoppable in their initial 18 games, winning by an average of 6.3 points, until they clashed in a high-stakes game at the stadium that was previously called University of Phoenix Stadium on February 3rd.

Oddsmakers saw the competition as one-sided, giving the Patriots, led by coach Bill Belichick, a 12-point advantage in betting.

The Giants jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead in the first quarter, but the Patriots took control with a 1-yard rushing touchdown by Laurence Maroney in the second quarter.

The game was neck-and-neck until the fourth quarter, when a rising star tight end named David Tyree made a legendary catch in the closing minutes that would become a momentous event in NFL history.

The Giants were able to move down the field after securing a first down, ultimately leading to wide receiver Plaxico Burress catching the game-winning touchdown from 13 yards out with just 35 seconds remaining in the game.

The Giants achieved a rare feat by winning with a final score of 17-14, which was significantly lower than the projected over-under of 55.

The New York victory as a 12.5-point underdog ranks as the third biggest upset in Super Bowl history, behind the Jets’ win over the Baltimore Colts as an 18-point underdog in 1969 and the Patriots’ victory over the 14-point favorite St. Louis in 2002.

Patriots Seek Redemption in Super Bowl XLIX Rematch Against Arizona

Seahawks fans remain upset with coach Pete Carroll for his decision to throw the ball from the Patriots’ end zone, even after eight years.

Carroll’s decision to call a pass play from the New England 1-yard line with just 26 seconds remaining in Super Bowl XLIX led to the Seahawks being defeated by the Patriots. The play ended with the infamous interception by Malcolm Butler, sealing Seattle’s loss.

Despite Tom Brady being named the game MVP, the win was sealed by the rookie cornerback intercepting a pass intended for Seahawks wide receiver Ricardo Lockette at the goal line, securing a thrilling 28-24 victory.

According to ESPN, Butler’s interception on the 1-yard line was the only one out of 109 attempts during the 2014-15 NFL season.

In Super Bowl XLIX, Brady’s exceptional performance stole the show with 328 passing yards and four touchdowns. Despite Wilson’s respectable 247 yards and two scores, it was Brady who ultimately outshined him, especially with Butler’s game-saving interception.
